Catching up
HI!
It's been a while since I posted. I am now 27wks pregnant and doing fine so far. My last appointment was good. I was with a nurse practitioner instead of my midwife and she was very open and talkative. I was able to ask her a lot of questions and get a lot of answers!
Overall I have gain an average amount of weight...my bp and protein levels are fine and I "passed" my diabetes test. It was a yummy test :) I had to drink orange soda (tasted like it) and then have my blood drawn an hour later. I am not diabetic but I do need more iron. I am not going to take the iron pills they recommended because I already know i don't eat enough fiber and i don't want to be constipated. I am using Floradix (wild oats) and it doesn't constipate me. Plus my dear mother and friend Shirley gave me a list of high iron foods. Besides the chicken liver, I like most of it. smile. I have been taking my other supplements and trying to get plenty of protein. I need to start drinking a protein shake (yuck) to get more I think. I believe the magnesium sulfate that I have been taking is keeping my blood pressure down.
I think my next appointment is with a doctor to have a VBAC consultation. And after that I have appointments every two weeks.
I still need to make a list of interpreters that we are comfortable with as well as have all the phone numbers in order (phone tree) for any information that needs to be shared. Maybe I will put a phone tree together and send it out for everyone's approval. That way Lucy/carroll can make one phone call to begin with. I have asked Lucy to be my immediate on call person for Isaac when the need arises. After that I will want someone to be around to care for him while I am in the hospital, because I want James to take care of me. Smile. It would be nice if my mom were here, too. I know also that some of James' family will be here if humanly possible since they missed the first one.
We still plan to deliver at Central Maine Medical Center which is only a few minutes away.
Isaac is entertaining himself in the "playroom". It is too cold to be in the sunroom today. He is walking now! He started march 19th when we were at Cappy's house. We were standing around talking and all of a sudden he takes about 5 steps in a row before falling down. I just sat there with my mouth open. Ofc, I knew it was coming soon; he had been taking one step before this without realizing it. But I was still blown away and if you looked closely you would have seen tears in both my and James' eyes. So now we know what it is like to chase a little one around. Fortunately we have baby proofed enough to relax at home without having to chase him constantly.
James is outside with a friend playing with the new lawn mower that we bought at Lowes (thanks Dad!). We didn't have a lawn mower...now we do!
